It wasn’t an easy decision for this Cincinnati family to move for their dad’s job from Monroe to Kansas. They were big concerns. “We were worried about making friends… Those kids were crying, and Cooper looks at Parker and whispers…” Mom Mallory Nelson said. “Do we have to be Chiefs fans?” son Cooper replied. And they kept that promise. Five months into the move, the family has adjusted well and they love the Bengals-Chiefs rivalry. “I get it, we’d rather play anyone. I’ve heard we’d almost rather be in Atlanta on neutral field, than at home against the Bengals,” Dad Jon said. “Some people said if you’d moved two years ago, we wouldn’t have minded, but now…Parker dreams of orange and black every night and even gets called at school: ‘Parker:BB’,” said Mallory . Which stands for Bengals Boy. “It’s nice to have a nickname,” Parker said. The Nelsons said they never thought enemy territory could be this much fun. The family said overall they love their home away from home.
