Church information for February 26-March 3

The deadline for submitting articles for church briefs to be published in our print edition is Wednesday at 2:00pm. To post an article, email Claire Kowalick at [email protected]. Please limit listings to special events, gatherings or guests. Limited space does not allow for listings for regular weekly events. We’re sorry, but church short articles cannot be picked up over the phone.

First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls: A Love & Respect Marriage event will be March 5 with author Emerson Eggerichs. He and his wife Sarah will talk about various topics about marriage. The event will begin at 4:15 pm at the downtown worship center. Tickets cost $20 per person or $35 per couple. Childcare is available for $5 per child with event registration. First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd.: At 10:30 am Sunday morning, February 26, the Rev. Michael Morris, associate pastor of the Church, will be preaching. His sermon continues the series of winter sermons on the Disciplines for the Christian Life. It is titled “Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life: Simplicity” and is based on Romans 8:1-11. “Rise Against Hunger” will be held on Sunday, February 26, in the Fellowship Hall, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM The event offers groups a fun and educational way to literally lend a hand to hungry people around the world . Families are welcome. IF: FPC WF will be held March 3 from 6:15pm to 9:30pm and March 4 from 9am to 4pm Attendees will come together to reclaim discipleship as God’s means to change the world through Jesus Christ. Christian education is available for all ages every Sunday morning at the Church from 9:30 to 10:15. Anyone in need of prayer or pastoral care is encouraged to contact the Church office.

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church: All members are requested to use the Harding Street entrance and wear a face mask. If you are unable to attend the service, deacons will be available on the Bailey Street side of the church 30 minutes after the service if you wish to contribute to tithes by offering and receiving the Lord’s Supper. New Baptist Church in Jerusalem, 1420 Borton Lane: New Jerusalem offers inmate meals, food distribution through the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank mobile pantry, clothing, and health checkups on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9:00 am to noon. Our Lady Queen of Peace, 4040 York: Fish fry and Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent: Knights of Columbus no. 1473 are hosting a fish fry from 5-6.30pm in the Great Hall. Plates are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Takeout is available. Via Crucis every Friday of Lent starting at 19:00 in the Church. Stations at 3pm on Good Friday – 7th April. Parish Lenten Mission: We invite you to join us for our Parish Lenten Mission – Keeping the Faith presented by Father John Broussard, CPM. The mission will be held in the Church every evening at 7 pm starting on Sunday 26 March and will end on Tuesday 28 March.

Metropolitan Community Church of Wichita Falls, 1401 Travis (at 14th Street): As always, all are welcome.
