2023 is bringing several changes in and around the Country Club Plaza.
Here are six of the latest updates:
House of Prom by David’s Bridal is scheduled to open on Wednesday at 422 Nichols Road.
The new pop-up concept will bring floor-sweeping clothes, shoes and accessories including jewellery, headwear and handbags. It will have freebies during the opening weekend. Closure is scheduled for the end of business on April 23rd.
David’s Bridal will open just four more prom pops this year in Arizona, California, Massachusetts and Virginia.
The Escape Game has been in the planning stages for several months and is now scheduled to begin construction in February at 320 Ward Parkway. It foresees a summer opening.

The Nashville-based company has 29 locations across the country. It’s typically in hot vacation spots like Orlando and Honolulu and I liked that the Plaza draws locals and visitors alike.
The current tenant, Ricca Sposa Bridal Salon, will move to downtown Kansas City.
Charlie Hustle, the famous local clothing company, has been at 419 W. 47th St. since 2014. But now it’s temporarily at 4747 Broadway (formerly Michael Kors) until February. Infrastructure works are underway in front of its final location.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, founded in Japan, has a permit for the former T. Loft space at 200 W. 47th St.
A company spokeswoman said in a statement: “Unfortunately, we are still in the process of executing the contract and we are not yet able to officially announce it to the public.”
Seville Dental Aesthetics is occupying space at 606 W. 48th St. No opening date was available.
Levi’s Store has a permit for 441 Nichols Road. Company officials could not be reached for comment.

The Aloft Hotel Kansas City Country Club Plaza opened this month overlooking the Plaza and the Cascade hotel will open next door later this year. California’s Johnny Was plans a new Plaza store. But longtime tenant Zocalo Mexican Cuisine & Tequileria will close on Sunday.
