HomeGrown restaurant opens in the Crescent building

HomeGrown, a breakfast and lunch restaurant based in Wichita, Kan., opened Monday in the Crescent Building, owned by the Krause Group, parent company of Krause+.

HomeGrown is the second tenant to open in the building, located at 555 17th St. Big Grove Brewery and Taproom opened in July, and Des Moines-based marketing firm Trilix announced in November that it would move its offices into the building .

“With every business that joins the building, Des Moines residents get a new space to come together as a community, and HomeGrown’s made-from-scratch menu is a fitting addition to the neighborhood restaurant roster,” Nate Easter , director of business development at Krause+, said in a press release.

HomeGrown was founded by Jon and Lauren Rolph in 2017. The restaurant serves breakfast favorites with locally sourced ingredients.

“We are thrilled to open our doors to the Des Moines community and couldn’t be happier to call the renovated Crescent Building home,” said Jon Rolph, president and CEO of Thrive Restaurant Group, owner of HomeGrown.

The Crescent Building location is the group’s sixth restaurant. There are two locations in Kansas City and three locations in Wichita. The restaurant will be open every day from 6:30 to 14:30
