Kansas City Drug Trafficking Conspiracy Now Includes 27 Defendants, 112 Counts of Drug Trafficking and Illegal Firearms

The drug trafficking conspiracy swept through the Kansas City metro area.

A total of 27 people were indicted as part of a drug trafficking conspiracy in the Kansas City metro area. Anthony D. Harris, 40, and Latrell O. Dean, 19, both of Grandview, Mo., and Seville S. Gardner, 37, were the last three defendants indicted in an open 112-count indictment on January 26th. alleges that 26 of the 27 defendants in the case participated in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, fentanyl and marijuana in Jackson County. The conspiracy investigation began in April 2021. The ATF found that marijuana, crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, ecstasy pills, counterfeit fentanyl pills, and OxyContin pills were being sold in the metro area. The year-long investigation involved more than 200 law enforcement agencies from local and federal agencies, including the ATF, DEA, Marsha’s US office, the Kansas City Police Department and the Police Department of independence. Items seized by authorities included 27 firearms, 1,877 rounds of ammunition, more than 11.1 kilograms of marijuana, 300.9 grams of cocaine, 278.91 grams of other illegal drugs and $34,439 in cash. Dean was also accused of participating in a robbery conspiracy.

Prosecutors allege that 26 of the 27 defendants in the case participated in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, fentanyl and marijuana in Jackson County.
