Kansas City man arrested after manhunt in Cass County

A Kansas City, Mo. man is in custody in Cass County following a manhunt that occurred Friday morning near Cleveland, Mo. Dylan Lancaster, 25, is being held on several active terms and awaiting formal charges. Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were called Friday at approximately 9:45 am in the 245th Street and S. Prospect area. Neighbors told authorities they saw a suspicious vehicle and a man fleeing a barn onto the property. They later discovered the car had been stolen and a perimeter was set up in the area with the help of the Missouri Highway Patrol. At around 11:00, another neighbor called 911 and reported a suspicious person attempting to steal a vehicle. The driver fled the area and eventually fell. He was arrested moments later. “This is not our first meeting with Dylan Lancaster,” Cass County Sheriff Jeff Weber said. “Lancaster was convicted in 2021 of resisting arrest and arrested again in December 2022 following a pursuit involving deputies from Miami County, Kansas and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. He received a signing bond in that case and then failed to appear in court last month. Today over a dozen law enforcement officers from 3 agencies spent hours investigating, frisking and arresting this individual. We are grateful to our law enforcement partners and caring citizens. We hope this topic receives the proper attention from the justice system.” He is serving the following terms outside of Cass County, Lee’s Summit, Pleasant Hill and Riverside.
