KC stays busy with a huge high school volleyball tournament

The best high school volleyball players in the country are in town for an elite tournament. this weekend, you were probably wondering why all the parking lots were filled and why the city was overrun with high schoolers. This is a time of year when things are pretty slow around the downtown convention center. But, this weekend, nearly 600 Volleyball teams arrived from all over the country. That many teams mean many parents and family members. Add in about 500 college coaches who have come to recruit, and it’s a big weekend for the area. It is no coincidence that they have again chosen to hold the tournament in Kansas City. The city’s central location and growing profile make it an easy choice. The tournament concludes on Monday. So many people KMBC spoke to talked about how much fun they had in downtown Kansas City. They can’t wait to come back next year. This is the eighth year the tournament has been held in KC.
