YOU SAID THAT OFFICERS TODAY HAVE A SPECIAL DISPENSION TO BE ABLE TO WEAR SOME CLOTHES. WE DO. IT’S MY FIRST LIVE TV INTERVIEW WITH THE CAP, SO I DECIDED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. YES. TODAY THE CHIEF GRANTED THE OFFICER EXEMPTION TO WEAR, YOU KNOW, THE OFFICIAL CLOTHING OF THE CHIEFS HERE AT THE PARADE. YOU KNOW, HATS, STOCKING HATS OR WHATEVER. AS. YES. WE TALK ABOUT LOGISTICS HERE BECAUSE WE SAW POLICE OFFICERS AS WE SAID ALL MORNING FROM SMITHVILLE. BELTON REALLY TRYING TO HELP YOU GUYS. DO YOUR JOB. HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE YOU PREPARING FOR TODAY? YES. SO THE WEATHER WILL BE A LITTLE WARMER THAN 2020. AND SO THERE COULD BE A LITTLE MORE PEOPLE THIS YEAR AND WE ARE READY FOR IT. WE HAVE PREPARED FOR ALL EMERGENCIES AND WE ARE READY TO ACCOMMODATE AS MANY PEOPLE WANT TO COME HERE. WE HAVE SEEN BARRIERS ALONG THE BIG HERE AND KNOW MORE TO COME. 9:00 AM IS AN IMPORTANT DEADLINE RIGHT? YES. WE EXPERIENCED A LOT OF PEOPLE, WE HAD A LOT OF FRUSTRATION IN 2020 WITH THE PARADE ROUTE BEING COMPLETELY CUT OR CLOSED COMPLETELY FOR CROSSING. WHICH HAPPENS AT 9 AM. THERE ARE DESIGNATED CROSSINGS ALONG THE ROUTE. THEREFORE PEOPLE COMING TO AND FROM HOME OR WORK CAN GO THROUGH THE DESIGNATED CROSSINGS. BUT AT 9:00 AM IT WILL BE CLOSED COMPLETELY TO ANY VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIAN CROSSING. AND VERY FAST, BECAUSE WE KNOW THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM. LAST TIME WITH CHILDREN SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILIES, ARE THERE ARRANGEMENTS IN PLACE TO ENSURE THEY CAN BE REUNIONED? YES THE REUNIFICATION POINTS ARE VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT THEY WERE LAST TIME. IF YOU GO TO CHIEF’S PARADE.COM OR CASEY TALK, YOU CAN FIND A MAP WITH THOSE. IF YOU HAVE AN IF YOU ARE A PARENT WHO HAS LOST A CHILD, FIND A POLICE OFFICER. IF YOU ARE A KID WHO HAS LOST YOUR PARENTS, FIND A POLICE OFFICER. WE HAVE DEDICATED RADIO CHANNELS AND WE WILL MAKE YOU REUNIFY. ALL RIGHT. WELL, WE KNOW LAST YEAR WAS A LITTLE CRAZY. I KNOW THERE WAS A CHASE BEFORE. WE HOPE TO AVOID IT TODAY. SERGEANT JEFF AQUINO, PD CASEY, THANK YOU SO MUCH. GOOD LUCK TODAY. YES, THANKS GUYS. ALL RIGHT. WE KNOW AND LIKE YOU SAID, I WANT, THERE WILL BE A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE BECAUSE IT’S MUCH WARMER. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS IT COULD SURE TO SAY, THEY WILL BE IN THE AREA. SCHOOLS DOWN. RIGHT. THIS WILL BE THE BIGGEST PARTY IN TOWN. TEAMS SPENT WEEKS JUST IN THE LAST DAYS. LOOK THIS WAY. LOOKS LIKE A MONTH, RIGHT? PREPARE FOR THIS. IN ANTICIPATION OF THIS PARADE GETTING READY FOR HUGE CROWDS FILLING DOWNTOWN, HOTELS IN THE AREA ARE BOOKED WITH PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO BOTHER TO DRIVE. THEY SAY THEY JUST WANT TO FOCUS ON THE CELEBRATION. ENJOY THIS. ENJOY THE CITY, ENJOY THEIR TEAM. ENJOY ALL FANS. I THINK THAT’S REALLY WHAT WE LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SEE ALL TOGETHER FOR SUCH A FANTASTIC OUTCOME. AS. AND I SAY THAT BECAUSE SERGEANT PICKETT IS GETTING INTO THE CAR RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA IS LEGAL IN MISSOURI, BUT IT IS NOT LEGAL TO SMOKE IN PUBLIC. SO WE ARE CIVILIZERS. WE ARE SAFE. WE ARE RESPONSIBLE. ALSO YOU MAY NOT DRINK ALCOHOL ON THE STREETS OF A COMPANY NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE PARADE OR GIVE FREE BEER. SO READ THE TEA LEAVES AS YOU CAN
