Manistee’s stolen vehicle recovered

At about 9:40 pm Friday, a police officer from the Lansing Police Department was on patrol in the Christopher and Willow Street area of Lansing when he observed the stolen vehicle, according to a Saturday afternoon news release from MSP.

“The officer turned and observed the vehicle traveling northbound on Knollwood Avenue. The officer briefly lost sight of the vehicle, but moments later discovered the vehicle was empty sitting in front of an address on Knollwood Avenue,” the press release reads in part. “A perimeter has been established and a K-9 team has been called.”

A short time later, perimeter police arrested the suspect, a 24-year-old Lansing man, who was placed under arrest.

Cadillac soldiers were called Wednesday morning to Watson’s Manistee Chrysler with a report of a stolen vehicle in the dealership parking lot.

“The suspects stole a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT. The suspects were caught on surveillance footage at the Parkdale Wesco putting fuel into the vehicles,” a previous state police press release said. “The suspects arrived with a Dodge Charger ‘Destroyer Grey’. The suspects paid cash for the fuel.”

The stolen Durango has been recovered. The incident remains under investigation.
