The MNU football team is thrilled to announce the autograph class of 2023. This class welcomes 50 new members to the Pioneer family. Nine different states are represented among the new signatories.

“This is my fourth and biggest recruiting class we’ve had since we took over at MNU,” says coach Paul Hansen. “Going into this recruiting season, we knew we had to drill down on some positions. This class gives us more depth so we can compete for another conference championship. I am very proud of how hard our staff have worked to land such quality students athletes. The future is very bright.”

Defensively, some key signees at the linebacker position will help add to a unit that will return seven starters next year. “Lance Jones’ transfer will add speed and quickness to the defence,” says coach Hansen. “Also, Olathe North local talent Jackson Davis appears to be a key player at the linebacker position. He’s looking for Hamilton Staton, CJ McMillian, Matthew Geogrie and Maxwell Webber as key players who can immediately help our defense.” Offensively, Enrique Newman (325), Garrett Davidson (280), Jacob Campbell (315) and Landon Carson (310) are all key signers adding dimension to our offensive line. “If we’re going to win games in November and December, we’re going to have to win the line of scrimmage,” says Hansen. “We’re going back to ten starters on offense next year, so getting good depth behind those guys was key. Players like Chase Allen, Devin Andrews, Payton Feiden, Drew Miller and Bear Shore all appear to be key players who can help the attack.”

“Overall, I am very happy with this recruiting class. There are some really good players in this group and I think they will fit well into our current squad,” says Hansen.

The Pioneers open the 2023 football season on August 24 at Texas College at 7:00 p.m.
