Ronald Ray Neilson Obituary – Topeka Capital-Journal

Ronald Ray Neilson, age 62, was tragically involved in an automobile accident on Thursday, February 9, 2023. He was born on January 5, 1961 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Arley Ray and Josephine (Rose) Neilson.

Ron has lived near Lyndon, Kansas all his life. After graduating from Lyndon High School in 1979, Ron bought a farm a few miles from his childhood home where he partnered with his father and raised cattle. On May 28, 1983, Ron married Connie Lynn Jones in Ottawa, Kansas. From this union four children were born, Kyle, Kevin, Katelyn and Kade. He became a rural mail carrier for the Post Office and a Fieldman for the Overbrook Livestock Commission. He was a member of the Topeka Baptist Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Connie, aged 39; his four children, Kyle of Lyndon, Kevin of Bucyrus, Katelyn of Olathe, and Kade of Liberty, Missouri; his parents, Arley Ray and Jo; his two sisters, Cathy Keezer of Wichita and Robin Nitcher of Pomona; and 10 grandchildren.

Ron was passionate about his family, never shying away from a challenge and prided himself on always giving 110% in everything he did. He made a lasting impact wherever he went and worked. We will miss him more than words can describe.

Ron’s funeral will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10:30 at Grace Community Church in Overbrook. Burial will be at Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4.30pm to 7pm on Friday 24th at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. Memorial contributions in memory of Ron can be made to The Gideons International, sent to Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
