Teenager released from hospital after shooting in North Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A teenager was released from the hospital after he was seriously injured in a shooting in Wichita Tuesday night. It happened near the intersection of 22nd Street and Waco.

When Wichita police arrived, they found an 18-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. Police say he was treated and released.

According to police, investigators learned the 18-year-old man had been driving in a gold Ford the night before with three other males when they drove to a business on 21st and Arkansas. While on the farm, a white pickup pulled up and one of the males in the gold car came out to speak to one of the occupants of the white pickup. After their conversation, the male re-entered the golden vehicle, and as they drove away, the occupants of the white pickup began shooting at the golden car.

The 18-year-old driving the golden vehicle headed north on Waco followed by the white truck. At 22nd and Waco, the 18-year-old man and one of his passengers exited the vehicle, and the other two unidentified males drove off in it. The Gold Ford was located on the 2200 block of N. Broadway.

Police say investigations are ongoing.
