What to know if you’re going to the Chiefs’ parade of champions

KANSAS CITY — If you attend the Chiefs Parade on Wednesday, there are a few things to remember.

The parade kicks off at noon between Sixth Street and Grand Boulevard, traveling down Grand until it heads west at Union Station. The rally at Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial’s North Lawn will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m. and last approximately 1 hour.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial will offer reserved parking and a discounted admission fee for those attending the parade.

The city will allow vehicular traffic to cross Grand Boulevard at 7th Street, Admiral Blvd, 13th Street, Truman Road and 18th Street until 9 am Wednesday. Pedestrians will be able to cross Grand at 9th Street, 13th Street, Truman Road, 18th Street and 20th Street.

KCATA offers round-trip service from five locations.

The Kansas City Streetcar will suspend operations beginning at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, February 15 and will reopen when conditions permit. The KC Streetcar will replace the streetcar service with two RideKC Bus Links starting at 6am Wednesday February 15th. RideKC Bus connections will operate along Main Street, stopping at designated trolley stops. Click here for more information on Parade Day Trolley Stops. Ride KC bus operations on parade day will be free with very limited service.

The Park and Ride shuttles will operate from 7:30am to 11am, and then again from 12pm to 4:30pm. Riders are expected to return to the drop-off location for their specific shuttle and be prepared for waiting at popular locations.

There will be parking restrictions along and around the parade route. These restrictions come into effect at noon on Tuesday 14 February and extend into the late evening of Wednesday 15 February. Cars parked in temporary no-parking zones will be transferred at the owner’s expense. Cars parked on the highway will be transferred at the owner’s expense. Most lots around the parade site will be paid for parking, including the National WWI Museum and Memorial, Union Station, and Crown Center. Please check the organization’s websites for more details.

Get to downtown KCMO by scooter or bicycle! There are three micro-mobility partners in Kansas City that provide an alternative way to get around town during the parade festivities: RideKCBike, SPIN, and Bird. Please keep in mind:

– Scooters and bicycles will not be allowed to circulate in areas closed off from roads – Pay attention to pedestrians and do not drive on sidewalks – Respect traffic laws

The unified government also offers free shuttle service to downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Parade shuttles will be via (KCK Transit Metrocenter, 47th and State Avenue): 7:30am – 11am
