KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A man and a woman were killed early Friday morning inside a Kansas City home, leading police to take several concerned individuals into custody to figure out what happened.
Officers arrived around 12:30 a.m. at a Chestnut Avenue home on East 34th Street in response to a shooting. There they found a man and a woman killed inside the house. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
An investigation revealed the shooting occurred following a verbal altercation inside the home that led to gunfire. Police have arrested multiple people of interest at the home and are investigating further. They are not looking for any other suspects at this time, police said.

The man who died as a result of this shooting has been identified as Mark Young, 31.
“As regards persons of interest who have been taken into custody,” the police added, “investigators will submit information about the case to the prosecutor’s office for consideration of applicable charges.”
