Kansas Monster Buck Classic is going to the dogs

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The outdoors moves inside the Stormont Vail Events Center this weekend. The Monster Buck Classic kicks off on Friday January 27 and runs through Sunday January 29.

Tyler Kirby and Jason Reynolds visited Eye on NE Kansas to check out what’s in store for this year’s show. Reynolds trains the dock’s diving dogs Fetch-n-Fish and has brought Roxy and Reba along for showing off. The feisty pups not only dive, but are also trained to find deer sheds. Reynolds says he can’t wait to introduce the dogs to kids and adults at the show.

While monster buck and shed contests and exhibitions are part of the name, Kirby says the Monster Buck Classic is all about all things outdoors. Also includes 3D archery for kids, indoor archery tournament for adults, cornhole tournament, and outdoor displays and vendors.

Special guests scheduled for this year include Don Brewer of TV’s Swamp People; Ray Howell, world-renowned archery pro and leader of Kicking Bear Ministries; and country group Wilder Horses in concert on Saturday night, January 28.

Tickets cost $6 a day or $12 for a three-day pass. Children enter for free. To purchase tickets and find complete event information, visit kansasmonsterbuck.com.
