SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law officials are investigating a shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital.
Shortly after 8:30 pm Tuesday, police responded to the 2300 block of N. Waco in Wichita after multiple calls of shootings, according to Officer Trevor Macy.
At the scene, first responders located an 18-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Rescuers transported him to a hospital in the area with serious injuries. He was treated and later released, according to Macy’s.
Investigators learned the 18-year-old had been in a gold Ford the night before with three others when they drove to a business at 21st & Arkansas Street in Wichita.
While he was on the farm, a white pickup truck pulled up and one of the men in the gold car came out to speak to one of the white pickup’s occupants.
After their conversation, the man climbed back into the golden vehicle, and as they drove away, the occupants of the white pickup began shooting at the golden car.
The 18-year-old driving the golden vehicle drove north on Waco followed by the white truck. At 22nd and Waco, the 18-year-old and one of his passengers, a 17-year-old boy, got out of the vehicle, and the other two unknown males drove off in it. Police located the Gold Ford at the 2200 block of N. Broadway. Police have not released the identities of those involved or reported an arrest.
